About
My name is Dorian Lisbona I was born in New York City in 1950 and grew up there. In 1992 I moved to California. In New York I was pretty active in sports such as swimming in the ocean, stick ball, handball, touch football and later on several martial arts and boxing. I had a few amateur fights as well as some professional fights. I trained at Bobby Gleason's boxing gym where Roberto Duran trained when he was in New York. I got to spar with him a few times which was awesome. At the time Doran was world champion in several divisions for those who don't know who he is. In 1982 I was introduced to Tai Chi Chuan by a trusted friend who also studied with William CC Chen. I met William C C Chen after searching for his place and studying with him till the present day. He is now 90 years old and retired from his school but occasionally still does workshops . Studying Tai Chi with William Chen enabled me to improve in all areas in my life including of course the fighting. I am now living in the Bay Area, in Walnut Creek, California, with my family.
